Paper and Pixels

I know it's been ages since I posted more than my weekly Sketchy Sunday post, sometimes it's just nicer to make stuff.  Anyway, I've actually been doing a little scrapping and in the interest of fairness I've gone for a traditional layout and a Project Life app one too. I still love both and each has it's place for me.

First up is the traditional paper layout. For this page I used papers from the First Edition Sweet Nothings paper pad.  It's a lovely heavy quality set of papers with different textures and some shimmered, some glittered and some canvas effect designs. Although admittedly I received this in a Design Team kit it would definitely make my shopping basket.

I used a few of the Dovecraft mini dies to create the embellishment layers - the jigsaw is a fav. The Making Memories title piece is also from the Sweet Nothings paper pad, there's a sheet of tags and title or quote pieces that make up one of the pages.

Next up is the Project Life app page. I kept this one really straight forward as I wanted to include so many photos. I used a journaling card from the Capture Life themed card set.

If you have the app already you'll be interested to know the Celebrate Every Day Photo Overlays card pack is a new freebie, let me know if you spot others.

Sketchy Sunday no. 160

This week's sketch is based on one of my favourite ways to showcase several photos on one layout - the photostrip. It's a great way to show action shots or tell a time lapse story like those birthday picks of blowing out candles and opening pressies. So, without further ado here we have it, sketch no. 160.

I've been using my Cameo this week to make a few projects. This little barn box, made with First Edition Sweet Nothings papers, is a file I purchased as part of a set from SVGcuts called Santa's Village. Although it's designed as a Christmas themed set, a change of papers is all that's needed to make it an everyday project. Be warned though, a visit to their website is going to make your wishlist that much longer!

I also finished off another card from the Dovecraft Neutral Goody Bag, which I've found really easy to work with.

And for those of you after a bargain.....The Range have a number of old editions of Creativity magazine on sale for £1 with free gifts of mini die sets normally priced at £2.50, as well as paper packs. I picked up two, the first had a mini banner die set and wood effect paper pad and the second had an Easter set of five mini dies. Well worth a total of £2 and they had others to choose from.

Happy Scrapping

Sketchy Sunday no. 159

Another sketch and I'm amazed that the numbers are really heading up there. This week's offering is a single image sketch based on a layout I'm in the middle of creating. Sometimes the sketch comes before the layout and sometimes after. So, here it is.....Sketch 159.

I have another  project to share this week. This one is a pocket album made using the First Edition Wild Flower paper pad. I added some clear memorabilia pockets made from clear CD envelopes. I picked up a pack of 50 CD envelopes at Wilko's for £2, so these are going to turn up in a few future projects.

I bound the album using my Bind-it-all and included different size pages along with the clear pockets.

There's plenty of room for tags both large and small.

Movies watched this week:

The Accountant - action thriller starring Ben Affleck - Pick of the week
A Monster Calls - powerful, emotive fantasy drama
La La Land - modern musical with an emotional punch
